Attending our Summer Workshops is a "Working Vacation."
Anhinga Writers' Studio will take care of the "Working" part. The Hilton will make it a "Vacation."
The Anhinga Writers' Studio Summer Workshops team has decided to spoil you a little. You are being hosted this year in the Hilton University of Florida, situated on the southwest corner of the University of Florida campus in the heart of "Gator Nation." You'll work hard with some of the finest writers, editors, and agents in the country, but you'll feel pampered by the elegant, spa-like surroundings of the Hilton. And we've partnered with the Hilton to give you an affordable room rate.
In addition to comfortable classrooms, you'll have plenty of spaces within the hotel for meetings, meals, and drinks with old and new friends. And if you are staying at the Hilton with the rest of us, all you have to do at the end of the day is quietly disappear and retreat upstairs to the luxury of your private quarters.

While the Workshops provide breakfast and lunch for students and faculty each day, the Hilton's restaurant is available for our families' on-site meals, and you can enjoy an excellent dinner on your own without having to leave the Hilton at night. They boast one of the area's finest restaurants for casual American dining: Albert's.
The 2-Bits Lounge is named after Mr. 2-Bits, a famous Florida Gator cheerleader. Join friends for a drink and appetizers, and watch sports on one of the numerous TVs. They also have pool tables if you feel like relaxing with a game or two. Ask the bartender for one of our signature cocktails, the Anhingini and the Anhingarita.
The Anhinga Writers' Studio welcomes you to Gainesville, Florida and the hospitality of the Hilton. We'll enjoy our "Working Vacation" together. And if anyone asks, we'll swear we were mostly working.
